Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs knows birthdays are celebrations of life, and so he wants to show his appreciation for his blessings by bestowing some on others.

Suggs and his newly-formed entertainment company, “Team Sizzle Worldwide”, is hosting the first annual Team Sizzle Worldwide Celebrity Weekend – with portions of the ticket sale proceeds benefiting the William E. Proudford Sickle Cell Fund, Inc.

The extravaganza, slated for the weekend of October 24-26 in Baltimore, is full of star-studded events throughout Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

A brief rundown:

Friday, Oct. 24: At Silo Point, a private waterfront blowout will take place, featuring Vegas-Style entertainment, such as a cirque aerialist, a fire breather, and much more, including some “indulgent” surprises. Call Silo Point at (410) 685-6410.

Saturday, Oct. 25: At the Pearl Spa & Salon of the Ritz-Carlton Residences, there’ll be a private luncheon with spa services for celebrities and VIP guests, as well as families of sickle cell victims. Call (443) 692-1911.

Sunday, Oct. 26: At M&T Bank Stadium, celebrities and VIP guests will receive tickets with sideline access to see the Ravens take on the Oakland Raiders.

Suggs was inspired by a recent encounter with a teen who suffers from Sickle Cell. Because of that, Suggs has decided to direct his energy toward funding compassionate care and research for those who suffer from the disease. That’s what led him to invite celebrity friends, esteemed members of the Baltimore community and the community at large, sponsors, and media to assist him in his efforts. Hence the weekend blowout.

Suggs, who named his new company partly from his affectionate nickname of “T-Sizzle”, is a two-time Pro Bowl linebacker who was a first round selection (10th overall) in the 2003 NFL Draft. He’s also launched a film company, called 1080 Incorporated, through which he will write and produce movies.

The William E. Proudford Sickle Cell Fund partners with major institutions in the Mid-Atlantic area in order to provide an ongoing source of funds earmarked to support Sickle Cell awareness, education, and research.
