Browns
By Matt Evans

Lately it’s been nothing but disappointment with the Ol' Brownies, but myself and a few celebrities are still proud to be Dawg Pound members.
Actor Dennis Quaid is one of those members.
According to cbsnews.com, Quaid attended the Steelers- Browns game on Sept. 14 and accompanied Jim Brown onto the field for the coin toss.
The mark of a true fan, is backing your team even when they are down. Even if it means helping them “on the field.”
Akron native and Cleveland Cavs poster boy, LeBron James has been known all along as a Browns fan, and recently in a ESPN commercial, signed a contract as a Browns wide receiver.
Sometimes we don’t even pick who we root for, we just “jump on the band- wagon” because they are “in our back- yard.”
Akron, Ohio native and CSI: New York star, Melina Kanakaredes, grew up in “Brown Country” and knew no different.
The multi- talented actress, sang the National Anthem on Oct. 18 in a game against the New York Giants at Cleveland Browns stadium. She later received a jersey with her name on it.
Other times, we often root for the team our parents root for, as I did with my father. It serves as a type of bonding and father-son time. In the case of former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, rooting for the Browns was father-daughter time.
According to ESPN, “Rice, an only child, quickly showed her father she shared his passion for the game. By the time she turned 3, they were watching telecasts of their favorite team, the Cleveland Browns.”
Cleveland isn’t far away from taking the next step and being a playoff team. They have a solid offense with a young quarterback and explosive receivers. If they can pick up a few defensive players in the upcoming draft, James, Quaid, Kanakaredes and Rice will be happy campers.
