Tiger Woods made his return to golf by defeating first-round opponent Brendan Jones 3 and 2 in 16 holes on Feb. 25 at the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship in Marana, Ariz., his first golf tournament since injuring his knee last June.

After a short-lived return to the top of golf, Woods was eliminated before the weekend, when he was defeated 4 and 2 in 16 holes by No. 22 ranked Tim Clark in the second round.

Woods has a career record of 32-7 in match play, winning the event three times including last year’s title.

February has been an eventful month for the world’s No.1 ranked golfer.

Besides the long-awaited comeback, Woods and wife Elin had their second child, Charlie Axel (to accompany 3-year-old daughter Sam Alexis).

The last time Woods was on the golf course he needed an extra day to defeat Rocco Mediate during the U.S. Open at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego. Woods limped his way through 91 holes to clinch his 14th major championship.

At age 33, Woods ranks second all-time in major victories, needing four more to tie Jack Nicklaus.

Since Woods joined the Professional Golfers’ Association of America in 1996, he ranks third all-time in tour wins with 65, trailing Nicklaus (73) and Sam Snead (82).

Woods has also won the “Jack Nicklaus Award” nine times for being the PGA’s tour player of the year.

Woods has not yet announced when he will play next.
