When Bryan Mills’ 17-year-old daughter is kidnapped the former secret service agent is the only one who can get her back in “Taken.”
After a messy divorce, Mills (Liam Neeson) is now an afterthought to his teenage daughter, who chose to live with her wealthy step-father (Xander Berkeley).
The former government agent, whose career cost him his family, now works as a security guard, while he tries to get ex-wife Lenore to let him see his daughter.
Lenore (Famke Janssen) appears to have a change of heart when she allows Mills to see their daughter. But it’s just a ploy to get Mills to sign a custody form to allow Kim to go to Paris.
Reluctantly, Mills feels he has to let his daughter go in order to rebuild their relationship.
While vacationing in Paris, Kim (Maggie Grace) is abducted by human traffickers involved in slave trade.
Now, Mills has to use the same espionage skills that took away his daughter to get her back.
Director Pierre Morel leaves the audience guessing how far Mills will go to rescue his daughter in this suspenseful thriller.
