List of 8 Best Adult and Childrens Mermaid Colouring Books
1. Mermaids Coloring Book: An Aquatic Art Adventure
The Mermaids Coloring Book: An Aquatic Art Adventure by Jasmine Becket-Griffith is a beautifully designed colouring book. There are 52 pages with a introductory section at the beginning of the book. Each page is unique and provides a large mermaid with lots of space areas as well as small intricate parts, the design fills the whole page. Aswell as mermaids are a wide array of marine life.
The artwork is a particular signature style of the artist Jasmine Becket-Griffith. All pages carry artwork on one side and a small descriptive paragraph on the other side which provides a nice little story a long side it.
The paper of the book is of a good thick quality providing very little seepage through the paper, I would still advise using extra paper to go underneath the one you are colouring in so as to not accidently colour further designs before you are ready too.
You could use a variety of different applicators such as colouring pencils, acrylic pain to sharpee pencils.
Pros
- Beautiful mermaid designs
- Open space for ease of colouring as well as intricate sections
- Paper suitable for a multitude of paints and inks
- Thick paper
- Short descriptions with each design
Cons
- A little pricey compared to other colouring books
Verdict
This is a beautiful colouring book of talented artwork, this isn’t particular cheap but it is an addictive colouring book where you may find you want another of Jasmine Becket-Griffith books.
2. Ameh Mermaids: Coloring Books For Adults
The Ameh mermaids colouring book for adults is a good sized colouring book filled with mermaids in a variety of marine life situation backgrounds including seahorses, dolphins and shells.
The book includes a lot of intricate colouring in and some of the pages uses grayscale, this does not bother me too much but I feel this is a personal preference. One thing I am not so keen on is the repeat in design through the book however if you do accidently mess up one of the images you are likely to find a repeat giving you a second chance at it.
The designs do not fill the page as do in other colouring books but they are pretty and delightful designs. To the back of each illustration is black which helps to prevent any paint or colour leaking though the page.
Pros
- Pretty and imaginative designs
- Over 30 images
- Black on the reverse of the page design to prevent spillage
- Cheap
- Next day delivery
Cons
- Designs don’t fill the whole page
- Some drawings are repeated
- Grayscale pictures can be a love or hate
Verdict
The Ameh mermaids colouring book for adults is a delightful, pretty, mermaid filled colouring book that is cheap and includes repeat designs.
3. Keep Calm And Colour Mermaids Adult Colouring Book
The Keep Calm and Colour Mermaids book is a genuinely nice little colouring book.
It is worth noting that this book is very small more pocket size than your average colouring book. Which in some ways has its advantages as it is small enough to fit in a handbag to colour in while waiting for something such as an appointment or a takeaway. The designs inside are also fairly small, making some of them easy and quick to complete. There are an array of different difficulties within the book therefore some will take a lot longer than others.
Between the designs there are also lovely calming quotations to help you feel motivated, these quotes are directed at adults and is one reason why I would suggest this book is more suited to an adult along with the varying difficulty.
Pros
- Cheap price
- Suits a mixture of colouring abilities
- Includes lovely quotes inbetween designs
- Next day delivery
Cons
- Designs are a little small
- Book is pocket size
Verdict
The Keep Calm and Colour Mermaids is a great pocket sized book for a mermaid on the go to sling in the hand bag amongst a busy lifestyle.
4. Selina Fenech’s Mythical Mermaids – Fantasy Adult Coloring Book
This is the second mermaid addition of Selina Fenech’s colouring books. This is definitely an adult colouring book, the images involve romantic and darker elements.
Includes 25 mermaid designs ready to be coloured that in this particular book are doubled, this may seem a little bit of a waste however having it each designed repeated once again allows you to do it again with different colours.
Each design is found on the right hand side of the book so that each page is not double sided preventing bleeding through the page onto a further design. The designs are beautifully thoughtout and some including quite a large amount of intricate detail. Each design fills the page and you are looking at up to a few hours of colouring to complete one.
Pros
- Beautiful adult mermaid designs
- Fantasy themed
- Designs repeated twice
- Designs fill the page
- One per page

5. My Little Mermaid Children’s Colouring Book
My Little Mermaid colouring book by Mickey MacIntrye is a large sized book at 21 by 27.9 cm.
The designs on each page show the artist has carefully thought about making these images easy to colour in as well as fun with varied styles and other marine life. The extra element of marine animals also provides a basis for discussion about sea life with your children. The artist himself has four children and the book really shows knowledge of a colouring book to keep a young child entertained.
OIder children may find the designs too easy but it still might aid as an activity as colour therapy. The pages are suitable for both colouring pencils and felt tip pens to fill in the designs.

6. Color by Numbers Kid’s Mermaid Colouring Book
The Color By Numbers For Kids colouring book is a great introduction for choosing colours, matching number to colour and matching them up correctly.
The designs fill the page and are one sided to prevent bleeding through. Each layout consists of one mermaid.
With each color by number design you are recommended which colour to use this helps your child with creating a beautiful design. What is create about this book as it isn’t just colour by number, half of them are plain so that your child can also colour in the mermaids in whatever colour they choose.
Pros
- Over 45 pages to colour
- Encourages learning by numbers
- Also images without numbers
- Single sided print

Verdict
Color by numbers is a great colouring book for you child to encourage focus, colouring in skills as well as provinding lots of mermaids.
7. Mermaids, I Love Them: A Creative Colouring Book for Children
Mermaids, I Love Them is a colouring book filled with 60 pages of mermaiding colouring fun, the book begins with your little mermaid themselves writing their name of who the book belongs too (and even this page has mermaids which could be coloured in too). A choice of either colouring pencils, pens or crayons work well on the pages.
Each mermaid tends to have long flowing hair with pearls and some sections of their tale which have minute scales, this provides some challenging aspects to colouring in which will help encourage patience and perseverance and your child will feel accomplished once the page is completed.
Personally I feel there could have been a little more variation in the mermaids themselves as they all look very similar. Most designs do contain fish friends and in some their are multiple mermaids on one page. Even with its size this book is a great addition for pack in a bag for a handy colouring in session while travelling to your next sea side location.
Pros
- Filled with lots of mermaids
- Mix of easy to colour and intricate sections
- Suitable for use with variety of colouring pencils, pens and crayons

8. Disney’s The Little Mermaid Colouring Book
The Little Mermaid colouring book by Theresa Gre is suitable for children age 5-6 years. This is a great book with 40 pages for a Little Mermaid enthusiast!
The designs feel like little action shots from The Little Mermaid movie, you don’t have just Ariel but many other charectors such as Flounder and Sebastian to colour in. The pages are easy to colour in and the designs are fun.
The colouring in is fairly simple with no challenging sections so you many find your child colours in a page very quickly or may get bored. There are a few sections on pages that are blank which I felt could have been filled with extra features from The Little Mermaid.
Pros
- Designs from The Little Mermaid Disney Film

- Lovely designs
- Not just Ariel to colour in, also Flouder, Sebastian and an array of other charectors.
- Next day delivery with Amazon Prime
